The Earth Resource Investment Group (ERIG) represents an umbrella brand for a group of companies, which advise Universal-Investment-Gesellschaft mbH on investments in companies in the resources and energy sector.

ERIG is headquartered in Zug (Switzerland), with further offices in  Cape Town (South Africa) and London. This allows for proximity to the European investor base of Universal-Investment and mining companies as well as participation in Africa’s booming mineral and energy industries. It also allows for on-site company evaluation and - if requested - personal investor communication.

Currently the Group consists of four companies which are based in Zug, Switzerland:

ERI is the fund advisor to the Earth Exploration Fund UI which invests in exploration companies and junior producers in the small cap sector.

EEI is the fund advisor to the Earth Energy Fund UI which invests in mid to large-cap companies in the energy sector.

EGI is the fund advisor to the Earth Gold Fund UI which invests in companies of all market-caps (ranging from exploration to large-cap companies) in the precious metals sector. The fund focuses mainly on the mid to large-caps.

ERIG has developed a SICAV SIV* fund structure jointly with our JV partner MRI Resources AG, a member of the MRI Group in Zug (Switzerland) and Universal-Investment in Frankfurt. The fund aims at investing in early stage resources companies and maximising returns, by locking in investments for a certain period and taking stakes of more than 10% in significantly undervalued oil, base and precious metals companies. Management will also be seeking board representation.

*A SICAV is an open-ended collective investment scheme common in Western Europe. SICAV is an acronym for Société d'investissement à capital variable which can be translated as investment company with variable capital. SIV is a “Special Investment Vehicle”.
